Actron CP9135 AutoScanner Diagnostic Code Scanner with On Screen Definitions for OBDII Vehicles Review
![]() The Actron CP9135 easily scans and retrieves DTCs. View details. |

The CP9135 is simple and easy to use. The attached OBD II 16-pin connector cable provides both data and power connections, while the eight-foot cable and rugged housing are both oil- and grease-resistant for added durability. Once the scanner is connected, the extremely user friendly menu provides a variety of information in a snap. Use the Monitor Status and I/M Readiness (Inspection/Maintenance) function to determine if your vehicle is ready for an emissions test. The I/M Readiness is an excellent function to use prior to having a vehicle inspected for compliance to a state emissions program, so you'll have a good idea if your vehicle will pass the standards.
Another important thing to remember is that all emission testing facilities will fail a vehicle that has the "check engine" light illuminated at the time of the test--even if it is only lit to remind you of a past-due oil change or 60,000-mile tune-up. With this scanner, you can shut off the check engine light and pass the emissions test on your terms. The menu also alerts you of any pending DTCs and reads the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) status. By reading the MIL status the scanner gives insight into what might cause your "check engine" light to turn on in the near future. In this way, the scanner also provides some preventive measures to help you keep a close eye on your vehicle's systems. These functions, combined with the simple "hot keys" used to read and erase DTCs, make the CP9135 scanner a perfect solution for identifying problems with your vehicle and keeping you safe on the road.

Roadi RDT45 Diagnostic Trouble Code Reader for VW and Audi Engine, Transmission, Airbag and ABS Systems Review
The Roadi RDT45 is an easy-to-use tool for novice and light-to-moderate do-it-yourselfers who need an inexpensive diagnostic tool for Volkswagen and Audi vehicles sold worldwide since 1990. The RDT45 easily and quickly determines the cause of the "check engine" coming on and is able turn it off without going to the dealer and erase codes, saving time diagnosing problems and money in repair costs. It works on four main systems: engine, transmission, airbag and ABS. It also is helpful in checking for potential problems prior to purchasing a car.
Beginning in the 1980s new vehicles began to be wired with a variety of computerized diagnostic systems designed to improve efficiencies, simplify troubleshooting and minimize the need for repairs. These systems produce indicators known as diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) internally, usually indicating something out of the ordinary by illuminating the "check engine"/malfunction indicator light (MIL) on the dashboard of your car. In the 1990s these systems, codes and the hardware connectors used to access them were standardized in North America as OBD (onboard diagnostics) and later OBD-II. Europe uses the equivalent EOBD, but Volkswagen and Audi vehicles also use another diagnostic standard system, VAG. Unofficially this acronym can be taken to stand for "Volkswagen Audi Group."
1-Roadi RDT45 VAG basic diagnostic scan tool, 1-user's manual (paper), 1-documentation CD (includes user's manual, DTCs lookup library, etc.), 1-OBD2 cable (used between scan tool and vehicle). One-Year Limited Warranty Roadi warrants to the original purchaser that this product is free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase, subject to any additional terms and conditions included with the written warranty included with the product. About Roadi Established in 2004, Roadi is a fast developing manufacturer and marketer of automotive diagnostic equipment and instrumentation for the aftermarket industry, with products in three categories: Code Readers, Diagnostic Scan Tools and Instrumentation.
